Our friendly internet owner, Google, rolled out version 2.1 of Google Maps. You can simply go to m.google.com from your Symbian S60 smartphones and follow the Google Maps download which will get you version 2.1.

Leaving Google jokes aside, Google Maps can be a very useful tool to have on your handset so I’d go out to test the new version right away. You’ll find bellow a changelog with the most important changes in version 2.1.

• Several speed improvements
• Favourites sharing with Nokia Maps, Route 66, and others
